2018 ANCOLD Conference

WMAwater Director Fiona Ling and David Krushka from TasWater presented a paper at ANCOLD conference by co authors WMAwater Associate Kim Robinson, and James Bennett and David Robertson from CSIRO. The paper, on flood forecasting for dam safety management, looked at the current status and future developments in flood forecasting, discussed issues in using forecasts for dam safety managers, and presented a case study of TasWater’s Isandula Dam forecasting system which was developed by WMAwater.

WMAwater are currently developing a statewide flood forecasting system for TasWater’s dams. A pilot system is up and running and is already helping TasWater in management of their dam operations during flood events.
